The Frankfurt Hop-on Hop-off tour allows you to design your own itinerary for your sightseeing trip of Frankfurt – add the ones that interest you most and leave the ones that are of no interest to you. The bus stops at important sights such as Romer, the town hall and one of the city’s most important historic buildings; Goethe House and Goethe Museum, lingering reminders of the great German author, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe; St. Paul’s Church, an important architectural landmark that originated as the main Evangelical Lutheran church and went on to become the first seat of the German Parliament and is currently a venue for exhibitions and events. No activities are planned for the afternoon, leaving you with sufficient time to shop for souvenirs and catch an evening entertainment show. Overnight in Frankfurt.
Day 03: Full day excursion along river Rhine
After breakfast, we will proceed for a full-day excursion to the Rhine River Valley; an English-speaking tour guide will escort us to make the excursion more informative and enlivening. The tour will begin at 11:15 AM and will end at 07:00 PM at “Wiesenhuettenplatz 39”, across the central station in Frankfurt. The Rhine River Valley is thriving with sights – there is the river in itself, charming villages on the riverside, vineyards by the dozen and centuries-old castles as well. A must-visit is the Rhine Gorge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
See the famous Lorelei Rock that towers up 433 ft above the Rhine River; enjoy a gorgeous view from the Niederwald Monument, a gigantic monument (towers over 132 ft high) set up to symbolize the re-establishment of the German Empire; ride the cable car back to the foothills (optional). After a sumptuous lunch in a beautiful restaurant at the riverside, board the boat for a scenic cruise down the Rhine up till St. Goarshausen, a tourist town nestled on the shores of the River Rhine. We invite you to a wine tasting session. Shop at Rüdesheim/Drosselgasse (in winter when steamers are not operating we may visit a castle instead). Overnight in Frankfurt.
