The state is now emerging as a vital tourist destination among the travellers. Being an ancient land it has some of the most worshipped religious sites belonging to Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. In this Bihar Ramayan circuit, explore cities which are somehow interestingly connected to the mythological land of Janak, the kingdom of Raja Janak, and also other characters such as Valmiki and Goddess Sita. In this tour, your will visit the ancient city of Janakpur. It is said that in this city the marriage of Ram and Sita had taken place. Valmiki Nagar, where the ashram of Rishi Valmiki was once located. Besides that, one could also visit Bodhgaya known for its Buddhist monasteries. It is here Lord Buddha attained the enlightenment. Patna the capital famed for its ancient heritage and is a great tourist attraction.

What to do in Ramayana Circuit Bihar Tour

During Ramayan circuit tour, backpackers would have a wonderful opportunity to visit the mythological cities belonging to the Ramayana era. In Bodhgaya, travellers could get the sight of Buddhist monasteries and temples. Mus visit is the Bodhi Tree under which it is said that Lord Buddha had attained the enlightenment. Other famous cities to visit are Janakpur, Patna, Sitamarhi, Valmiki Nagar, Chanki Garh and Darbhanga.

Day 01: Bagaha/ Bettiah (arrival) – Valmiki Nagar (by Road – 52 kms approx)

On arrival at Bagaha Railway Station (BUG) or Bettiah, meet and greet by Our representative and then get driven to Valmiki Nagar. On arrival check in at Hotel, relax for few hours. Later drive to visit ancient sites called Valmiki Ashram, Jatashankar Temple and Nardevi Temple. Evening enjoy the magnificent view of River Gandak and Someshwar Hills which is just behind your resort in Valmiki Nagar. Overnight stay in Valmiki Nagar hotel.

Day 02: Valmiki Nagar – Chanki Garh – Sitamarhi (by Road 220 kms approx)

Today after breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Sitamarhi – A birth place of Goddess Sita. Enroute visit Chanki Garh for ruins of ancient fort of King Janak. Later drive to Sitamarhi, on arrival check in to hotel, later visit Punauradham, Sita Kund, Haleshwar Asthan, Panth Pakar. Evening back to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 03: Sitamarhi – Janakpur – Sitamarhi (by Road 70 kms approx one way)

Today after breakfast take an excursion tour to Janakpur. It is said that the marriage of Rama and Sita has been solemnized in this place. One can see the magnificent “Ram-Janaki” temple here along with many others temples related to Lord Rama and Goddess Sita or Janaki. Evening back to Sitamarhi for overnight stay.

Day 04: Sitamarhi – Ahilya Asthan – Darbhanga (by Road 110 kms approx)

Today after breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Darbhanga. En-route visit Ahilya Asthan and Gautam Kund – A very important incident in Ramayana is about Ahilya, the wife of Sage Gautam who cursed his wife and she turned into stone and waited for ages for Ram’s touch to come alive again. Evening reach Darbhanga, check in and overnight stay.

Day 05: Darbhanga – Ramchura – Patna

Today after breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Patna. En-route visit Ramchura Village in Vaishali. Later reach Patna, on arrival check in to your pre booked hotel. Evening get driven to famous Hanuman Temple, you may also do some shopping near to Temple area. Overnight stay in Hotel.

Day 06: Patna – Kako – Gaya (by Road 250 kms approx)

Today after breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Gaya. En-route visit Kako – The name of this place is derived from the name of Kaikeyee, who was the second wife of Rama’s father, the King Dasharath. Later reach Gaya. On arrival check in to you pre-booked hotel. Evening visit Ramshila Hills, Vishnu Pad Temple and Falgu river, it is believed that Lord Rama performs Pinddaan Puja in the memory of his ancestors. Evening back to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 07: Gaya (departure)

Today after breakfast, time is free till departure. As per your train time, drop off you at Gaya Railway Station for your onwards journey to home.
